According to newsreporting out of Baton Rouge, Louisia na, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “Pavement constructionmonitoring and qu ality assurance (QA) practices are based mostly on costly, discrete, and destruc tivemethods. Most quality assurance programs are based on pavement construction procedures encompassingin situ coring for layer thickness determination, densi ty measurements, laboratory testing to measurevolumetric properties, and smooth ness measurements in the case of the availability of an inertial profiler.”Funders for this research include Transportation Consortium of South-Central Sta tes, Barry Moore ofthe Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
