Abstract

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Powder-based additive manufacturing includes use of powder as the medium for building the object ofmanufacture. Powder-based additive manufa cturing can be used with various powdered materials andits flexibility allows f or geometrically complex three-dimensional structures. As with other additive manufacturing processes, the object is first modeled with data, and then computeri zed equipment thenbuilds the object layer-by-layer. In a powder-based process, the layers are formed by sintering, bonding, orotherwise fusing powder granules .
