By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning DailyNews ; According to news reporting based on a preprint a bstract, our journalists obtained the followingquote sourced from biorxiv.org:“The prediction of the plasmid host range is crucial for investigating the disse mination of plasmidsand the transfer of resistance and virulence genes mediated by plasmids. Several machine learning-basedtools have been developed to predic t plasmid host ranges.“These tools have been trained and tested based on the bacterial host records of plasmids in relateddatabases. Typically, a plasmid genome in databases such as NCBI is annotated with only one or afew bacterial hosts, which does not encomp ass all possible hosts. Consequently, existing methods maysignificantly underes timate the host ranges of mobilizable plasmids.
