Abstract
From the background information supplied by the inventors, news correspondents o btained the following quote: “Litter boxes are used by cats for elimination of u rine and fecal matter. A litter box contains a layer of cat litter that receives the urine and fecal matter. The pet litter comprises an absorbent and/or adsorb ent material which can be non-clumping or clumping. Visual indicators related to litter box use may provide information about a cat’s health; for example, the o nset of physical, behavioral, or mental health issues. Unfortunately, these symp toms may only occur in mid- to late-stages of a disease or health issue and ofte n do not provide enough information for correct intervention. Moreover, pet owne rs often lack the animal behavioral knowledge to associate litter box use with h ealth issues.
