Abstract

News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “For the industrial processing of yarns, yarn is usually st ored on a package wherein the yarn is wound around an axial bobbin along the ent ire length of the bobbin axis, so that the packages have a substantially cylindr ical shape. The bobbin around which the yarn is wrapped is usually in the form o f a cylindrical hollow tube so that the yarn package is able to be easily handle d and engaged onto a bullhorn or a holder via this cylindrical hollow tube. In i ndustrial processing, due to the large amount of yarns used in the processes to feed machines, the yarn wrapped around one single bobbin of the package has a su fficient length so that the complete unwinding of the yarn and the need to chang e the empty bobbins does not occur too soon. However, due to the amount of yarn wound around the bobbins, the yarn packages used for industrial processing may b e large and very heavy so that their handling might be complicated and tedious. Indeed, the yarn packages may weigh up to 50 pounds or more.
