( AM) techniques are used to create build pieces layer-by-layer, i.e., slice-by-sl ice. The process can be repeated to form the next slice of the build piece, and so on. Because each layer is deposited on the previous layer, AM allows for the formation of structures that were previously not possible to be formed by tradit ional non-AM manufacturing technologies.
