No assignee for this patent application has been made. News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: "Currently, commercial roof contractors hand weld a roofing membrane with edge metal strips while standing at the edge of the roof at a job site to create a metal drip edge. This hand welding of the roofing membrane res ults in high inefficiency with respect to labor cost, safety, and ease of instal lation.
