According to news originating from the University of Zagreb by NewsRx ed itors, the research stated, “Recently, CAD environments have integrated topology optimization (TO) tools, enabling rapid development and manufacturing of parts with optimized mechanical properties.” The news journalists obtained a quote from the research from University of Zagre b: “However, different CAD platforms incorporate TO differently, making a compar ative analysis necessary. This study aims to systematically compare the efficien cy, material usage, and design quality of five commonly used CAD/TO platforms wh en applied to the topology optimization of a six degrees of freedom robotic arm. The objective is to identify the key differences in how these platforms influen ce the final design and manufacturing outcomes. Practical validation of results is provided by printing and assembling optimized components into a fully functio nal robotic arm.”
