Abstract

According to news reporting originating from Ostrava, Cze ch Republic, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “The detection of people in urban environments from satellite imagery can be employed in a variety of ap plications, such as urban planning, business management, crisis management, mili tary operations, and security.” Funders for this research include Vsb-technical University of Ostrava. The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from VSB-Technical Un iversity of Ostrava: “A WorldView-3 satellite image of Prague was processed. Sev eral variants of feature-extracting networks, referred to as backbone networks, were tested alongside the Faster R-CNN model. This model combines region proposa l networks with object detection, offering a balance between speed and accuracy that is well suited for dense and varied urban environments. Data augmentation w as used to increase the robustness of the models, which contributed to the impro vement of classification results.”
