Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Description of the Related Art “Motion planning is a fundamental problem in robot control and robotics. A motio n plan completely specifies a path a robot can follow from a starting state to a goal state, typically without colliding with any obstacles in an operational en vironment or with a reduced possibility of colliding with any obstacles in the o perational environment. Challenges to motion planning involve the ability to per form motion planning at relatively low cost and very fast speeds for various env ironments and tasks.”
