The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “Mobile computing devices often include image-ca pture devices, such as cameras that use complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) sensors, to capture an image of a scene. While the quality of the images captured continues to improve, there are numerous challenges with conventional i mage-capture devices. For example, some image-capture devices fail to capture an adequate image of a scene when elements within the scene are moving. Some solut ions may be used to improve image quality in a single aspect, but these solution s often create additional image-quality problems.”
