News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: “In the field of logistics, it is known to create article s torage facilities, for example in warehouses, that are compact and extend upward s in order to optimize the storage space available. Such a transport and storage facility generally comprises storage racks arranged compactly, and access aisle s serving storage racks on either side. The storage racks are intended to accomm odate and store articles and to this end define successive columns of compartmen ts within their structure, each compartment defining a bin location. These compa rtments are intended to receive bins, or more generally containers, in which art icles are placed and stored. Said articles are then brought together to make up orders.
