According to news reporting out of Shanghai, People’s R epublic of China, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “Particlereinforced metal matrix composites (MMCs) are highly sought after for various applications due t o their robust mechanical properties containing high strength and high elastic m odulus. However, the introduction of highly rigid particles inevitably causes dr astic degradation of toughness, resulting in the trade-off between strength and toughness in MMCs.”
