Abstract

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – A patent application by the inventors Riverso, Stefano (Cork City, IE); Yarlapati Ganesh, Naresh (Cork, IE), filed on March 1, 2024, was made available online on October 3, 2024, according to news r eporting originating from Washington, D.C., by NewsRx correspondents. This patent application has not been assigned to a company or institution. The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: “Pilot state assessment systems may be used to a ssess the state of a pilot and/or co-pilot during operation of an aircraft. The position and posture of a pilot and/or co-pilot is an important factor for ident ifying/predicting fatigue and incapacitation situations during a flight-for exam ple, slouching and/or a loose head position (e.g., neck bending) can be indicato rs that a pilot is tired or asleep. Thus, the inventors have identified a need f or an improved pilot monitoring system to better detect and recognise the state/ activity of a pilot and/or a co-pilot.”
