The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background information supplied by the inventors: “ “The present disclosure relates to a three-dimensional object printing apparatus and method. “In the related art, a three-dimensional object printing apparatus that performs printing on a surface of a three-dimensional workpiece by an ink jet method is known. For example, an apparatus described in JP-A-2012-035552 includes a plurality of heads and a head raising and lowering mechanism for raising and lowering the plurality of heads. In this apparatus, the ink jet head is mounted on a carr iage that moves vertically and a workpiece which is a printing target is placed on a table, and the workpiece on the table and the carriage are movable relative to each other in an XY direction.
