Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Items can be delivered using postal services, courier services, or other similar services. However, prior to delivery, the items are typically sorted and packaged in a warehouse facility. The sorting and packaging of individual or grouped items can be a time intensive process and the packaging material is often discarded shortly after the item is delivered. The items can be shipped to customers using traditional delivery methods, however, these delivery methods can be long and slow and can cause the items to be moved and handled frequently. Additionally, items that are being shipped to customers located in a similar area are often shipped separately and delivered to the customers using delivery vehicles with limited capacity.”
