By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning DailyNews Daily News-Data detailed on Robotics have been pr esented. According to news reporting originatingfrom Luoyang, People's Republic of China, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "The flightmechanism of t he dipteran insects is commonly used to design the flapping robot. However, the nonlineardynamics of the buckling click mechanism of the flapping robot with bi stability still unclear."Financial support for this research came from State Key Laboratory of Robotics a nd System (HIT).Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Henan University, "In t his paper, a novelflapping robot model with the click mechanism proposed based on the bistability of snap-through buckling. The nonlinear governing equations o f the flight robot are obtained by using the Euler-Lagrange equation. The nonlin ear potential energy, moment of the elastic force, equilibrium bifurcation, as w ell as equilibriumstability are investigated to show the bistable characteristi cs. The transitional and persistent sets ofbifurcation regions in the parameter plane and the corresponding phase portraits are obtained with singleand double well behaviors. Then, the periodic response of the free flight are defined by t he analyticalsolution of three kinds of elliptical functions, as well as the am plitude frequency responses are investigatedby numerical integration. Based on the topological equivalent, the chaotic thresholds of the homo-clinicand hetero clinic orbits for the chaotic vibration of the perturbed robot system are derive d. Finally, theprototype of nonlinear flapping robot is manufactured and the ex perimental system is setup. The nonlinearstatic moment of force curves, periodi c response and dynamic flight vibration of dipteran robot systemare carried out . It is shown that the test results are agree well with the theoretical analysis and numericalsimulation."
