Data detailed on Robotics have been pr esented. According to news reporting out of Genoa, Italy, by NewsRx editors, res earch stated, "This letter presents the prototype of a human-sized, untethered a thletic hopping and balancing underactuated monopedal robot designed to withstan d crash landings." Financial support for this research came from Advanced Robotics Department, Isti tuto Italiano di Tecnologia, Genoa, Italy. Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the Italian Institu te of Technology, "Experimental results in 2D of the robot balancing on an unsta ble contact point, hopping vertically, landing back, and balancing within a narr ow point of 2.5 cm are presented and discussed. Furthermore, the first applicati on of a new linear transmission mechanism called the ring screw, an alternative to the ball screw, is presented."
