Abstract
The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied bythe inventors: “Earth-moving vehicles (EMVs) are heavy equipmen t machines designed to move largequantities of earth, rocks, soil, or debris du ring construction, mining, agriculture, or any other earthmovingactivity. Thes e vehicles are designed to perform a variety of tasks, such as excavation, grading, leveling, hauling, and demolition. For example, an excavator can be used for digging dirt and othermaterials from the ground. A backhoe loader is similar t o the excavator but is smaller and includes an adjustable shovel in the front an d a bucket in the back for more precise digging. A bulldozer can beused to move and grade dirt across large tracts of land. These EMVs are typically controlled by humanoperators and can be dangerous and cause injuries due to accidents. Fu rthermore, using human operatorscan be expensive and limited in the time the EM Vs can operate.”
