Abstract

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Exemplary embodiments of the invention relate to an interface arrangement for a vehicle for connectinga humanoid robot to a vehicle, and to a vehicle having such an interface arrangement.“Humanoid robots are automatons that are based on human anatomy in their degree of kinematicfreedom and shape and size. The motivation behind such a design lie s, on the one hand, in the sameevolutionary reasons as have led to the structur e of the human body, specifically having the possibilityof carrying or manipula ting objects by means of two arms and hands while also having the possibility ofonward movement via legs. In addition, the basis of the structure of the human body offers the possibilityof using such humanoid robots in an environment, cre ated by humans for humans. This relates, forexample, to the accessibility of pr emises and vehicles, which are adapted to the proportions of humans (forexample the concept of steps), but also to the size and mass of objects that can be han dled by humans,such as packages for packing goods, or human-machine interfaces, such as those of vehicles. In the priorart, it is already known to configure h umanoid robots such that they can also sit in the driver’s seat of apassenger c ar or HGV, and can take over the vehicle guidance of this vehicle.
