Abstract

Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: ““Field of the Invention“The present invention relates to a technique for performing resolution enhancem ent on an imageusing a machine learning model.“Description of the Related Art“United States Patent Application Publication No. 2018/0075581 discusses a metho d for performingresolution enhancement on an image using a machine learning mod el referred to as a generative adversarialnetwork (GAN). The method is referred to as a super resolution GAN (SRGAN). The SRGAN performslearning using a gener ator which generates a high resolution image and a discriminator which discriminates whether an input image is an image generated by the generator or an actual high resolution image.The actual high resolution image means a high resolution image which is not generated by the generator.
