Abstract

News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors:““Related Field“The present disclosure relates to a robotic device capable of engaging with a c leaning environment(e.g., bathtub, shower, etc.) to allow for easier cleaning o f the bottom surface and at least one sidewall.“Related Art“Robotic device may be used to clean a surface in various situations. Exemplary known cleaning roboticsystems may include a cleaning device configured to engag e one or more surfaces. Generally, though, theseknown robotic devices focus one engaging the one or more surfaces via features located on only one surface(e.g ., a bottom surface) thereof. Such conventional systems thus do not provide a ma nner for cleaning oneor more differently oriented surfaces in a simultaneous ma nner, let alone doing so with feature positionedon a single surface. Thus, a ne ed exists for improved robotic devices providing enhanced coverage andperforman ce.”
