LiDAR scanningcan be perf ormed to generate extremely accurate, detailed three-dimensional (3D) measuremen ts ofan environment including various features, such as the ground, vegetation, buildings, and other objects.LiDAR scanning produces a 3D point cloud of the s canned environment. The speed and accuracy ofLiDAR made it feasible to map larg e areas with the kind of detail that before had only been possible withtime-con suming and expensive ground survey crews.
