Welding is,at its core, a way of bonding two pieces of parent material. Laser welding is a welding technique used tojoin mul tiple pieces of metal through the use of a laser. The laser beam provides a conc entrated heat source, enabling a precise control of the heat input and high weld ing speed, creating a weld with lowheat input, and a small heat affected zone. In various applications, filler metal may be needed for differentpurposes such as filling a gap between workpieces, reinforcing the joint, overlaying a substra te surface,building up an object, or acting as a buffering medium.
