According to news reporting fr om Barcelona, Spain, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Theadoption of ro botic pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) has increased in recent years for the treatme nt ofpancreatic head tumors and periampullary lesions. Some potential benefits seem to be demonstrated;however, obtaining specimens through this method can po tentially compromise the diagnosis dependingon the timing of the specimen retri eval, and the impact of longer perioperative time on ischemia andautolysis of t he surgical specimen has not been analyzed.”
