Abstract

The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by theinventors: “There is a device for implementing Chuiko’s met hod for internal monolithic insulation of thewelded pipeline connection (RU 266 7856, published on 24 Sep. 18) that involves the coaxial installationof a steel protective bushing inside the joined pipes; after the pipe joint is welded, the end annular gapsbetween the protective bushing and the joined pipes are sealed so that an annular cavity is made betweenthe bushing outer surface, welded joi nt inner surface and the adjacent surfaces of the joined pipes, thenair is pump ed out from the annular cavity and it is filled with the compound.
