According to news reporting out ofChengdu, People’s Republic of China , by NewsRx editors, research stated, “For directional or horizontalwells, fric tion between the drillstring and the borehole wall has become a significant fact or in reducing therate of penetration, leading to a decrease in weight on bit ( WOB) and inefficient rock breaking. Generally,a larger amplitude yields a bette r oscillation effect.”
