According tonews reporting originating in Ave iro, Portugal, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “Several uncertaintyesti mation methods have been recently proposed for machine translation evaluation. W hile these methodscan provide a useful indication of when not to trust model pr edictions, we show in this paper that themajority of them tend to underestimate model uncertainty, and as a result, they often produce misleadingconfidence in tervals that do not cover the ground truth.”
