Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Asautomation becomes more common, robots are being used in m ore environments, such as in warehousingand manufacturing environments. For ins tance, robots may be used to load items onto or off of a palletin a warehouse, or to pick up objects from a conveyor belt in a factory. The movement of the rob ot maybe fixed, or may be based on an input, such as an image taken by a camera in the warehouse or factory.In the latter situation, calibration may be perfor med so as to determine a property of the camera, and todetermine a relationship between the camera and an environment in which the robot is located. The calibration may be referred to as camera calibration, and may generate camera calibrat ion information that isused to control the robot based on images captured by th e camera. In some implementations, the cameracalibration may involve manual ope ration by a person, such as manual determination of a property of thecamera.”
