News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors:““Field“Embodiments of this disclosure relate to carriers, systems, and methods for tra nsporting a samplereceptacle among various positions within an automated labora tory system.“Background“An automated laboratory system can have automated conveyor assemblies that tran sport samplesbetween various locations within a laboratory. These conveyor asse mblies can interface with the samplereceptacle by engaging a carrier (e.g., a p uck) coupled to a receptacle containing a sample to be processed. To transport t he carrier and, in turn, the receptacle containing the samples, the carrier is p laced on aconveyor assembly, and the conveyor assembly transports the carrier a nd the receptacle coupled to thecarrier between various locations within the la boratory. The carrier is configured to maintain the orientationof the sample re ceptacle as the carrier is moved between the various locations.
