Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors:“Creating robotic devices, such as animatronic characters, can be time intensive and processing intensive.Previous processes and systems for creating the physical linkages and joints of robotic devices are oftenslow, ite rative and repetitive. For example, whether the creative vision for an animatron ic character canbe realized with a given set of robotic hardware is unknown at the outset. Furthermore, certain details ofthe hardware may also be unknown. Th us, many iterations of the robotic and character design may beneeded to realize a functioning device. Therefore, there exists a need for improved processes and systemsthat can enable quick design of robotic systems.”
