The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion suppliedby the inventors: “Vehicle radiators are a component of a vehicle’ s cooling system. Radiators work byremoving heat from a vehicle system such as an engine and then dissipating the heat into surroundingair. In combustion engi ne vehicles, this cooling is a component to the vehicle’s engine system and in hybrid vehicles there may be a need for two cooling systems, one for the battery compartment and one forthe engine. There may also be another system that could require a connection to a cooling system in the vehicle. This could lead to usin g two physical radiators which can be more costly and can occupy spacebetter ut ilized for different functions. The innovation provides a novel method to employ only one radiatorto cool two different cooling systems, which can also be refe rred to as cooling circuits for purposes ofdiscussion.
