Abstract
The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by theinventors: “Multiprocessor systems have been implemented in systems-on-chips (SoCs) that communicatethrough NoCs. The SoCs include instanc es of initiator intellectual properties (IPs) and target IPs. Transactions,in t he form of packets, are sent from an initiator to one or more targets using indu stry-standardprotocols. The initiator, connected to the NoC, sends a request tr ansaction to a target, using an addressto select the target. The NoC decodes th e address and transports the request from the initiator to thetarget. The targe t handles the transaction and sends a response transaction, which is transported backby the NoC to the initiator.
