It is generally accepted that cleanroom personnel represen t one ofthe main sources of potential product contamination, and thus reduction or separation of such personnelfrom the manufacturing process is highly desira ble. In such cleanroom manufacturing operations, the twomost common forms of co ntainment systems which facilitate this personnel separation are known as restricted access barrier systems (RABS) and isolators.
