Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: “Awelding torch and welding power cable are typically used to perform arc welding. Typically, the power cableprovides current, shielding gas , and electrode wire to the welding torch and includes two fixed connections:on e end of the power cable is fastened to a wire feeder by way of a mating pin (or power pin), and theother end is fastened to a torch body with a gooseneck or c onductor tube of the welding torch. Thewelding torch typically has various elec trical connection points at the contact tip, diffuser/retaining head,nozzle, ne ck, liner, front module, power pin, etc.”
