Drivers, and particularly passengers, especially on long journeys,may be interested in learning more about points of interest al ong the driving route, without much effort or distraction. Existing driving assi stance systems, such as vehicle navigation systems, for example, canprovide a m ap and directions to a specified destination, but do not offer much detail about any points ofinterest along the driving route. Advancements in the area of dri ving assistance systems are continuallysought in the interests of convenience, performance, and safety. There remains a need for new drivingassistance systems that can provide information about points of interest, particularly along a lon g drivingroute, thereby enhancing the in-vehicle user experience, without much effort or distractions from driving.”
