News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors:“Inventory management in a storage site such as a warehouse can be a complex and labor-intensive process.Inventory items are usually place d at their designated locations with barcodes of the items readily scannableto quickly locate the items. However, in some cases, items can be misplaced and bec ome difficult to befound. Also, misplaced items may occupy space that is reserv ed for incoming inventory, causing storagesite personnel to spend time relocati ng items and tracking missing items.”
