Taking copper to the Max in Cesar

The chalcocite outcrops at Uru in Cesar, Colombia, emerge unmistakably with an obvious green coating of copper mineralisation. While the beating sun and +35°C heat may make you think your mind is playing tricks on you, the outcrops are less something you explore for and discover and more something you trip over as you walk through the brush. This was an oft repeated experience during a two-day field trip with a Max Resource advisor and Colombia geology expert, Dr Chris Grainger, to see what is rapidly becoming one of the most talked about copper plays in the Americas. There has been a succession of very high-grade copper sampling results, such as a channel sample of 16.8m grading 8.3% copper and 146 grams per tonne of silver.
