Abstract

Transition metal catalyzed chemical transformations have appeared as one of the key innovations in syn-thetic chemistry, which also been widely applied in drug discovery, agricultural chemistry and material science. Comparing to widely investigated ionic mechanism, transition metal catalyzed radical reactions are less explored, but they be used as an alternative approach to construct challenging carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. This digest paper highlights recent advances in merging halogen-atom transfer (XAT) with transition metal catalysis and mainly focuses on nickel, copper, cobalt and iron cat-alyzed radical reactions.(c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
