Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) has warned trade union members it will lock them out of their operations from March 20 if they do not reach a new wage agreement or commit to binding arbitration. A protracted labour dispute could potentially impact supplies of potash at a critical time for the fertiliser's market, which has been hit by the loss of key supplies from Russia and Belarus. Leading potash supplier Nutrien has called on the Canadian government to prevent a rail strike.
