Absidia pararepens Jurjevic, M. Kolarik & Hubka (Mucorales, Mucoromycota) was isolated for the first time in South America

Two specimens of Absidia pararepens Jurjevi , M. Kola ik & Hubka were isolated for the first time from the soil of Fazenda Brejo Reserve Nature, which is an upland forest fragment located in Pernambuco State, Brazil, South America. To date, this species has only been found in the states of New York, Maryland, New Jersey, and Ohio in the United States. In this manuscript, we describe and illustrate the morphology and distribution of the isolated specimens of A. pararepens. This study contributes to the knowledge of the geographical distribution of Mucorales.
