BHP has maintained a positive outlook for commodities as its half-year results smashed analyst estimates. Half-year underlying attributable profit of US$10.7 billion and attributable profit of $9.4 billion was 77% higher than the previous corresponding period. The company declared a record interim dividend of $1.50 per share, or $7.8 billion, whih was eguivalent to a 78% payout ratio.
