Data-driven optimization problems have been recognized in recent years by researchers far beyond the optimization community to be a powerful tool to model many important applications. This trend can be credited to some extent to the exciting developments in emerging fields such as compressed sensing and machine learning, among others. However, the classical optimization methods for data processing have become inadequate in these recent applications, due to the presence of complex, large-scale, and rapidly changing data.Motivated by this, theWorkshop on Data-driven Optimization Methods and Applications was held in Changchun, China, from July 6 to 7, 2019.
