COUPLED THERMOMECHANICS: COUPLING FORMS AND NUMERICAL ASPECTS

This paper presents coupling effects in the thermomechanics. Theoretical basis for the thermoelasticity and thermoplasticity is provided. Elastic structural heating for the thermoelastic case and elasto-plastic structural heating and mechanical dissipation for the thermoplastic case are given. The numerical aspects of the problem at hand are addressed. Efficiency and shortcomings are illustrated in one example.
