North American fertiliser firms Nutrien and The Mosaic Company have seen profits boom as potash and phosphate prices surged following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and ongoing sanctions on Belarus. Toronto-listed Nutrien, the world's largest fertiliser company, has raised its full-year 2022 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) guidance to US$14.5 billion-$16.5 billion, up 45-47% from the $10 billion-$11.2 billion guidance it made on February 16 this year prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
