The land of opportunity?A review of 'opportunity mapping' in England

Representing biodiversity targets on maps means drawing lines not just around habitats, but around the broader landscapes which contain them. This makes it easier to define where and how readily BAP targets might be met, and it encourages recognition of landscape character and archaeology. These maps are an opportunity which the new agency Natural England should grasp.
