The days of abundant funds for mineral exploration sourced from risk-friendly individual investors are numbered. The 2022 Mining Journal Global Finance Report, released in March, characterised the mining industry as being in the middle of a "funding bonanza". Descriptions of the industry being "now generally awash with capital" were cited in the report. The number of new resource sector entrants into Australia's public markets since the start of 2021 is set to top 150 this month, all with healthily replenished budgets.
