Instron's experience in testing metals has been developed over many years, but recently the company has strengthened its commitment to the metals industry. Instron has now acquired a range of brands, including Satec, Wilson, Dynatup, Baldwin, Riehle and Wolpert - all names that thrived on various aspects of metals testing - in an effort to develop a world-class metals testing product line. Instron's metals testing capabilities include hardness, impact, servo-hydraulic fatigue and mechanically driven tension and compression testers with capacities up to 600kN. With the acquisition of Satec Systems in 1998, matron also offers a full range of universal testers with capacities up to 3mN.
