TWO NEW γ-MANGOSTIN GLYCOSIDES THROUGH MICROBIAL TRANSFORMATION BY Cunninghamella blakesleana

The biotransformation of γ-mangostin(1)by Cunninghamella blakesleana(AS 3.009Г)was investigated for the first time,and two new transformed products were obtained.Their chemical structures were characterized as γ-mangostin-S-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(2)and 3'-hydroxy-7-methoxy-γ-mangostin-3-O-β-D)-giucopyranoside(3)by spectral methods.Compounds 2 and 3 exhibited moderate cytotoxic and antibacterial activities against a panel of human cancer cell lines and several microbial strains.
