The Genus Cyathodine has been merged with Blumea following molecular phylogenetic evidence (Plastid trnL-F and nuclear ribosomal DNA ITS sequences data). While the type species; C. purpurea has been transferred to Blumea, other species have not been transferred. In light of this, new combinations are made here for C. lutea & C. manilaliana. C. purpurea var. alba and C. purpurea var. bicolor are synonymized under Blumea purpurea. B. manilaliana is reported here the first time from Maharashtra state.
